The Centre is involved with the analysis of
metallurgical samples. It has wide range of instrumental facilities backed
up by experienced conventional chemists.

Certified Reference Materials
The Centre is involved in the preparation of
Certified Reference Materials (CRM) for metallurgical products for the last
three decades. Presently it markets 26 CRMs in the form of powders and
turnings. The Centre is also developing spectro standards for plain carbon
steel in the form of diskettes covering the entire range of
composition, XRF standard in the form of borax pellets produced from
iron ore powders of Indian origin.
