Chemistry Group

The Chemistry section has facilities and expertise to carry out chemical analysis for minerals, metals, alloys, ceramics, metallurgical raw materials and wastes. Standard procedures meeting international standards are adopted to ensure maximum reliability and accuracy of test results to meet the customers' total satisfaction. The section is also involved in various research projects.


R&D Services 

Studies on Ni-B and NiBSn3N4 composite coatings obtained by electro-electroless deposition process
Production of mangenous sulphate by reduction leaching of pyrolusite using agro-industrial wastes

Testing Services

Chemical analysis by Optical Emission Spectrometer (Iron base, copper base, aluminium base and nickel base alloys)
Chemical analysis by Atomic Absorption Spectrophotomter (Elements that can be analysed include -- Ag, Al, As, Au, B, Ba, Bi, Ca, Cd, Co, Cr, Cu, Fe, Hg, K, Kg, Mn, Mo, Na, Ni, Ph, Sb, Si, Sn, Ti, V, W and Zn)
Analysis of ores, minerals and ceramics:
Iron ore, magnesite, lime stone, ceramic wool, ceramic tiles etc.

Direct synthesis of gamma ferric oxide from waste ferrous pickle liquor from steel industries and ferrous leach liquor from TiO2 pigment industry

Preparation of precipitated CaCO3 and caustic soda by SAL process
