Due to complexity of the process involved with the blast furnace the process models has been developed on the basis of zonal concept of the Blast Furnace embodying highly complex coupled multiphysics problems namely fluid flow, solid flow, heat and mass transfer, phase change dynamics, combustion and multiphase solid fluid interaction etc.
